A friend of mine saw my old ram skull, the first proper thing I'd made with salt dough, and decided he really wanted me to make him a (human) skull the same way.So I did.
The ram skull was a first, and a learning curve - every step on this one went better.
The wire frame, instead of lots of bits of wire joined together, was one very long bit of wire formed into shape and then taped at the joins.
The paper machΓ© step, well I just did twice as many layers - it had a rock hard base fort the salt dough this time.
Salt dough: well now that I'd already done it, it was easier to do.
Lastly, somehow, the varnish ended up better on this one. It's sort of sticky to the touch on my ram skull but less so on this one.
