Description I'm preparing for halloween early this year, as I have some time on my hands at the moment.

Last year's Skeletor prosthetics were pretty awesome. Took forever, but got nothing but compliments. However I couldn't move my jaw much, and that made talking, eating and drinking very awkward. So this time I made a mask in a similar style, minus the jaw. I'm surprised how well it sits all things considered.
How I made it:
1. wire frame to get the main shape, from one long piece of wire for strength.
2. papier maché base to fill up all the gaps in the wire, except where holes are meant to be of course.
3.salt dough layer put on top of the papier maché and sculpted to the final shape you see here
4. paint and lacquer. Liquid latex was brushed onto the inside to make it somewhat less uncomfortable.

Nothing film-worthy, but better than a $10 outfit at the fancy dress store, it didn't cost me anything, and I had the fun of making it.

This will be much more relevant on halloween when I post pictures of the final costume...
