Okay, after looking back at my redesign for Marinette, I didn’t seem to like it.

So this will be the final look I’ve given for her.

I have thought about rewriting the story for Miraculous Ladybug many times. Considering I’ve seen how much of a badly written character Marinette and others are.

So here’s what I’ve decided to plan out: (And before we go to my ideas, I suggest you click off since I’ll be mentioning a slight spoilers from the MLB Movie, so if you haven’t seen that, please don’t ruin your day)

-Marinette is 18 years old in the story, and IS a normal girl with a normal life. She takes a course in her school which is of fashion designing. So she learns a few of the basics and plans out what designs there could be. She usually helps her parents at work since their home is part of a bakery, as the owner was welcoming them in and letting them stay in the apartment. She has a few ups and downs with trying to fit in with everyone, but her first friend was Ayla. It wasn’t long until she managed to get to know people more, but she has a hard time trying to befriend Chloe, since the blondie is not very kind at times. (I am planning to rewrite Chloe’s arc since it was awfully done bad and ruined because of the creator and writers)

-She doesn’t instantly fall in love with Adrien at first sight, nor does she stalk him (OR STEAL HIS PHONE BECAUSE OF A SILLY TEXT SHE SENT). Adrien and her start off as friends, and soon she starts to develop feelings, but she’s worried he might not feel the same. But he also comes to develop feelings too, it comes to a point where I’m deciding that for two seasons later, they confess to each other. (Instead of waiting for thousands of seasons for it to happen like waiting for the One Piece series to finish after thousands of episodes).

-How she becomes Ladybug? Simple, Master Fu had hid the Ladybug and Cat miraculous away so Hawkmoth nor others could ever find it. He didn’t plan on letting anyone use them even for the greater good as he feared for consequences. She only came across it when the earrings were found by a jewellery store which sells any sort of jewellery that can be worth anything. At first, Marinette believed that it was just normal earrings, since they appeared to be pearl earrings. But somehow, Tikki awoke. Marinette was in her right mind to freak out about it, planning on asking for a refund to return the earrings. But Tikki was able to convince her on what was her purpose. The earrings were a Miraculous, with the power of Creation that could do so much more. That amount of power was only to be restrained if the Miraculous has a host to contain it, using the power for greater good.

-Marinette of course doesn’t seem to want to be a host, and luckily she does have a choice. But she doesn’t give Tikki away in the end, she started to get along with the Kwami, but Tikki could not be revealed to the public as it could cause a few problems. Luckily, anything that’s a security camera or video camera would not show Kwami’s. Tikki was allowed to be seen by others that can trust the host and the host trusts them.

-Master Fu meets Marinette and Adrien when he knows that the Ladybug and Cat miraculous are activated. He comes to their school as a teacher for yoga, during the time being, he talks to Adrien first, and Marinette after, he only requests that they return the miraculous’ to him so he could hide them again. At first, they refuse and question to why. And he does explain the whole reason, since any person would be demanding to use the power of Creation and Destruction for their desires, such as a simple wish. Many times people had used to for bad things, and resulted in tragic events and consequences, Master Fu wanted to make sure that nobody could do so ever again. But Marinette and Adrien wish to show Master Fu that they can keep the miraculous’ safe and use them for good. This is when we come to the first akumatised person they need to fight.

-Now of course Marinette and Adrien don’t know that they are hosts of the main miraculous, only because Master Fu had spoke to them separately at a time where one of them were free to talk to. And he didn’t want to risk them both being a target if they both knew. And even though they work together in battles, they don’t seem to get along with each other. Such as not having the same dynamic for plans nor do they agree with suggestions. But throughout the episodes, they start to work it out and act like partners. And will they reveal their identities? Of course, they do this during the end of the second season after they confess their feelings, it’s kinda like what it was with the movie’s ending. And Master Fu let’s them keep the miraculous’, as they have proved themselves worthy to protect the citizens from Hawkmoth and use Creation and Destruction for good.

-Now onto the design, I think it was better if we had a better way to hide the identity of Marinette with a hair change. I took inspiration from Shadybug’s design as she had the pigtails reversed, and the hair colour was changed from dark blue to black. So I did this to the redesign, Marinette has black hair, cause no offence, but I hate how blue hair makes no sense in the MLB series. Like her mom has blue hair too and it’s weird. The outfit for Marinette in the original isn’t my kind of taste with fashion, so I changed the it to make it more interesting and have her stand out a bit more. The hero outfit is a theme of a ladybug look (Cause god help me I didn’t like the original, it was too bland), so she’ll have wings which can help her glide, kinda like Batman, and yes she still has the yo-yo. Her pigtails are supported by bobbles that resemble antennas of a ladybug.

-The miraculous earrings are usually normal pearl earrings, made as an illusion to hide them from Hawkmoth. But once activated, they look like how they’re supposed to from the show.

-Tikki’s design is a bit more bug like, since she didn’t look much like a ladybug kwami. I gave her wings and insect legs. ^^
