Description
A legendary creature of the Ozark Mountains, the Ozark Howler is stocky bearlike or catlike creature with horns, named for its distinctive howl, which sounds like a cross between a wolf and an elk. It’s also a hoax; cryptozoologists receiving emails with claims of sightings and evidence for the Howler were able to trace them back to a single college student. The student had made a bet that he could make up a creature and fool cryptozoologists into thinking it was real. Needless to say, he won the bet; despite being revealed as a hoax, people still believe in, and continue to report encounters with, the Ozark Howler.
