While having no interest of doing the a Spiral Ray, I like the idea that he could briefly make his atom breath hotter. The drawback is that it raises his own body temperature and forces him to retreat back to the ocean to cool off faster. Depending how much he used it in a timespan he can even enter “critical mass”.
