“One of the most notable features on Azaka-Tonnerre’s chest are the multiple groove-patterns along the sides of his chest, these grooves are known to glow in particular whenever the kaiju the uses any electrical attacks. They in fact play a viable role in the kaiju’s signature Tesla Beam. During breathing oxygen and other neutral gases flow through the “Plasma Passage” which diverts off from trachea. Here these gases enter the primary organ known as the Ardereum, where they are subjected to a strong electromagnetic field produced by the Ardereum after receiving additional charges from the dorsal spines. The gases are then force through narrow passages at high speeds, bending in loops before ending into a tight spiral. This organ, called the Inpulsabronchi, acts like “biological particle accelerators, speeding the gases at extreme speeds as they are heated until the gases transition to plasma that reach temperatures of 107,080 degrees Fahrenheit. The plasma is force back up and through the plasma passage until it is fired out the kaiju’s trachea. Upon exiting the jaws, the kaiju’s horns produced a magnetic field which help stabilize the plasma into its focus shape. As for why they appear visible from the outside? The most popular theory believes they either act as way to cool off Azaka’s body or a simple threat display. Possibly both.”
