“The fearsome CHIMERAs are the most puzzling of the species from TYPHON, it is still unsure where these strange creatures fits on Earth’s taxonomic tree as they display traits from a multitude of organisms while having traits unique to themselves. Like the others CHIMERAs are adapted to both the land and seas, using their forearms to drag themselves around on their engorged but slippery bellies. These creatures are in fact eyeless but possess an sensory organ on their dorsal “fins”. The CHIMERA head is covered plated bone which the animal use either a battering ram or a pressured crusher, 3,550 psi. Covering predominantly the creature’s head and neck are a multitude of venomous spines which the animal can inflate its neck with either air or water like an blowfish. The most bizarre trait is the animal’s tail, having a set of retractable, teeth-like spines that form a gripping jaw, this tail jaw has highly sensitive whiskers that the CHIMERAS use to find and grab prey in areas too large for the animal itself.”

I mentioned before with HARPYs I did really know what I want do with their designs, with the CHIMERAS I didn’t know what I want with their designs. There are a lot of weird animals in real life, so the CHIMERAS are the weirder. Always likened the idea they were once a land dwelling like dolphins, whales and Mosasaurus evolved back into the ocean. But because they had to evolve quickly to match up with TYPHON, they turned into something sinister prowling the deep dark depths.
