Unfortunately, I think the necrons will win in the end ultimately.

Just something about really tough robots with really powerfull weapons that never die seems to make me think they will win.

What the Imperium is dealing now is a small tiny faction of the Necrons. If the Necrons were to use their full force, Eversor or not, they will die.
And Necrons are so good in infiltrating that a couple of high lords of Terra are actually Necrons in disguise or humans converted to the necron cause unknowingly.

But the numbers of chaos are limitless as well. The tyranids are nasty, but you can't eat what doesn't exist. all that crons would do is make them stronger, adding that living metal to the hivemind's rescources. Chaos mutates them and manipulates them.

Well considering that Warhammer is usually taken from a human persepctive I would say the imperium will surive, even if only barely.
Plus in a propahcy from and imperial inquisitor Said that the most numberious, oldest, youngest and warlike races will have too stand together to fight the approaching darkness.
My guess is Eldar, Imperium, Tau and Orks.

And, if you think about it, once the Imperium falls, everything else does too.
It is holding the traitor legions in the Eye of Terror, basically the main oppenents of the majority of major Waaaghs!, and etc.
Once it goes, the flood gates open and the rest of the "Ordered" races are boned xD
Which is why I think some Eldar respect(? idk if this is the right word or not, but w/e...), or hate humanity; because they are really the final mortar holding it all togather

Yeah but here's another factor, if the imperium died out, no more tyranids. Think about it, the Emperor finally dies which then destroys the Astronomicon, which was already acting as a beacon for the bugs. Kill the Emperor, destroy the beacon, kills the few remaining bugs left, and prepare to mop up the surviving Imperial worlds at your leasure...

There is the eye, but the Astromicon was only the thing that lead them to the galaxy. Once they got here they just started sending out recon fleets to find food.

hmm, well technically i think that the oldest might be to the Necrons. i think i heard that they were older than the Eldar, altho i'm not entirely sure.

The Necrons are older than the Eldar since the Old Ones created the Eldar along with some other races specifically to fight the Necrons and their C'Tan masters.
