There's lot's of interesting angels, and to play devil's advocate:
Perhaps the woman is fighting obesity, or maybe not even fighting and just let herself go. I feel both partners should both equally strive to be fit for one another. I've nothing against big girls, but there's big and there's unhealthy. I disagree with the medical baseline for 'obesity' [thanks Calista Flockheart] but that isn't to say there's no such thing. It's a real concern more people need to be aware of. It's not just bad for your health, but it could be bad for your relationship if you're not caring for yourself.
P.S. This excludes medical issues like hyperthyroid disorders. I'm talking about people who just decide to stop working out or just don't care when their youthful metabolism shuts down. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and this is mine :]

in regards to the people saying she looks out of proportion? not everyone has proportionate body parts... not everyone is symmetrical, etc etc.
as to the entire photo? love it, the meanings, hidden and obvious (and personally i'm one of those people who usually miss everything that isn't obvious, ha ha, so there's probably more here that i haven't considered yet), and i think one thing that got me is the angle of the man's legs... other than the way he's holding the paper, somehow the way his legs are, the angle of his feet, even, seem to emphasize the sheepish "i'm pretending to read but i'm actually ignoring you" attitude.
or maybe he's afraid... because while she's a big lady, he looks to be on the thin side. he might be worried she'd snap him in half with those legs
either way congrats on the DD, well deserved!
