So I've decided to come up with a reference sheet format for my alien species.In retrospect, there are definately some alien species that I would have liked to do create references for before dune dragons but I decided to get their reference done first because I was thinking about asking someone to draw one for the next dragon swap round.
They're somewhat inspired by the Acklay species in the Star Wars universe... the heads anyways. I was originally going to make their bodies more t-rex looking but I decided that they'd look better as a four legged species.
Edit: I forgot to add on the sheet...
These guys have two eyelids. One is a standard eyelid like we have and the other is a thin, translucent lid that can close to keep blowing sand out of their eyes.

It is an original species for my fictional universe. Although they are called 'dragons', they are not true dragons as they are more closely related to desert lizards.

wow my own aliens would kill to get their claws on a few of these...they deal in slaves mostly so a good mauling guard pet would be ideal!

This is a very interesting creature you have developed. It reminds me a little of a Chinese qilin crossed with a krayt dragon from the Star Wars saga. Something about this dune dragon also reminds me of the science-fiction series Dune, only reptilian and not a massive invertebrate like the great sandworms of Arrakis.
I just have one question: have you developed any more interesting creatures like this one?

That's a pretty awesome-looking creature! If it's draconic in similar fashion, I add it to my collection.
I thought it might have been inspired by the Dune novels, but I guessed wrong. Though after reading the Creature Legend, it could feasibly be a Arakkian beast.

You don't have to ask to draw fan art. I always love seeing fan art... as long as no personal characters are being created. Just be sure to give credit where credit is due.
