Welp, would you look at that! Seems like Avariean found a lost Chao and wanted to safely bring him back to where he came from, just for many other Chao to find Avariean instead. The sudden cluster of Chao leaning away from the garden must've thrown Chaos' senses off that he felt something wasn't quite right, so he trekked out to investigate. Just to see that the Chao are all actually just fine, just casually circling and crawling around Avariean in curiosity and joy. One of them is even nomming on his jeans! Last time I checked, jeans aren't edible.

I've always had speculation that Avariean would be a natural chao-magnet for two reasons. First being his soft, timid, and gentle personality, which I imagine most Chao would be naturally drawn to, sensing that he bears no threat and would love his company/vice versa. Second being the fact that he alone is an echidna, knowing Knuckles' descendants and their association with the chao (think Tikal). I've always headcanon'd that because of Tikal's likeness and spirit with befriending Chaos and the Chao, plus having her own spirit infused alongside his, it would manifest with the echidnas having a higher natural sense of affection and sentiment for the chao, even for generations after. Thus, it'd only make sense that Avariean would be so affectionate towards the Chao, not to mention that he has his own Chao that looks just like him!

Avariean: Heheh...ummm...good morning?

He and Chaos would get along well I think  What do you suppose will happen after this scene?
