Description

The Harwick, Cregwir and Ballaswein light railway was a light mining railway usually run by horses, at times though the mines got too busy and the MSR was contacted to assist. The little railway at times had a surplus of engines and gladly sent one or two engines to help out with recompense. Stuart and Falcon, now Peter Sam and Sir Handel, both agreed these duties were their least favorites due to the lack of real facilities.

The mines tapped out in the late 1930s and the line torn up. However, the owner retained the land hoping for more resources to be found but in the 1970s, the land was sold to the NWR who has been building extensions to Ballaswein, Cregwir and Harwick.
