Gilead- After Republican presidential nominee Nehemiah Scudder claimed that electoral fraud by the Democrats had robbed him of victory in the 2020 Presidential Election, his followers attacked the Capitol and the White House, killing both Congress and the President in the President Day's Massacre. Scudder seized control of the government, declared himself both President and First Prophet, and inaugurated the Republic of Gilead, a violent totalitarian theocracy. Scudder's illegal seizure of power prompted the start of the Civil War and the disintegration of the United States into various warring factions.
-Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was an early and enthusiastic supporter of Nehemiah Scudder. DeSantis founded the Firemen, an organization of state-sponsored book-burners which spread from Florida to the rest of Gilead. Desantis' prominent position in advancing Gilead's social conservative policies made him a potential rival to Scudder. The Provisional Government's invasion of Florida significantly weakened DeSantis' power base and left him reliant on Scudder for support.
-Blake Masters, self-proclaimed Governor of Arizona, commands the forces loyal to Gilead in one of the most contested battlegrounds in the country. The city of Phoenix is heavily contested between Masters and rebel factions.

Provisional Government- Former President Quentin Trembley III, after centuries of living in suspended animation, has reemerged in the 21st century as the Acting President of the American Provisional Government, the chief faction opposing Gilead which seeks to restore democracy to the United States. The Provisional Government was born out of the Alliance to Restore the Republic, a political organization founded by Trembley to organize resistance against Gilead. Trembley established the Provisional Government shortly after Scudder came to power, establishing a capital at San Francisco and rallying opponents of Gilead to his banner. Trembley also administers the Pan-Pacific Defense Corps and is internationally recognized as the leader of the legitimate American government. With the U.S Treasury under the control of Gilead, Trembley finances the Provisional Government through the sale of TrembleyCoin, which is less than worthless, to cryptocurrency speculators.
-The resurrected General Winfield Scott was recruited by his old friend Quentin Trembley to command an offensive against Gilead. Scott, commanded American naval forces in Puerto Rico, launched an invasion of Florida in order to relieve rebels in Miami. Scott has pushed back the forces of Gilead from Florida, but the battlelines remain heavily contested. Seeking to re-enact his Anaconda Strategy from the First Civil War, Scott landed marines along the Mississippi River, with the tacit support of the New Orleans Vampires, and occupied Baton Rouge. Scott has expressed interest in resurrecting William Sherman to lead the invasion of Georgia.
-Thanks to his military experience, Minnesota Governor Danny Chung has fought off the forces of Gilead and maintained a Provisional Government enclave around Minneapolis despite being surrounded by hostile forces. Chung has officially pledged his loyalty to Trembley despite his ambitions for national leadership.
-Provisional Government enclaves, geographically separated from Trembley's base on the West Coast, are also based in Denver, Albuquerque, and the Oglala Lakota Reservation in South Dakota.

Queen Salamandra, ruler of the city, is in possession of a machine which allows Pesh to travel through time to different periods of Earth history. Pesh is primarily inhabited by goblins. Salamandra has conquered the few towns surrounding the field of corn in which Pesh appeared. Pesh has also attracted attacks from obscure religious cults inhabiting Western Nebraska.
21. Moosylvania is a small, previously unclaimed island along the Minnesota-Canada border. Moosylvania was colonized by the talking moose Bullwinkle J. Moose. The island is currently ruled by the time traveling scientist Dr. Sherman Peabody, who has made the island a refuge for talking animals and other outcasts fleeing discrimination from the Human Supremacist Gilead. Dr. Peabody is currently producing inventions to be used against Gilead. Peabody has a long-standing rivalry with Queen Salamandra.
22. The Mutant Forbidden Quarter consists of the Chicago and Milwaukee metropolitan areas. The liberal population of the cities and a large mutant community in Chicago allowed the region to quickly develop a resistance against Gilead. Skokie resident Katherine Pryde, one of the last surviving members of the X-Men, established Chicago as a haven for mutants across America and the world fleeing persecution from the dreaded Sentinels. While the mutant abilities of Pryde's armies enhance their military prowess, they have also attracted attacks by Gilead's robotic Sentinel armies, who have surrounded Chicago in a years long bloody siege. Canadian forces in Lake Michigan supply the mutants with weapons and provisions, allowing them to withstand the siege.
23. The White Council, in alliance with the Magical Congress of the United States, has established an independent safe zone in Chicago for American wizards and for the magical species and monsters living in North America. They are cooperating with the mutants in defending the city from Gilead.

Nehemiah Scudder's Human Supremacist policies prompted the city's Vampire community to take over administration of the New Orleans city government in order to resist Louisiana's incorporation into Gilead. Jacques St. Germain, a prominent elder in the Vampire community, emerged from the shadows to assume a public role as the acting Mayor of New Orleans, after the previous mayor was forced out over corruption issues. New Orleans has also become a haven for witches fleeing Gilead's persecution.
25. The Delta City Zone was formed in the 2010s when Michigan Governor Rick Snyder signed a bill allowing for the privatization of Michigan's city administrations. The corporation Omni-Consumer Products, despite being responsible for the Flint Water Crisis, was sold control over the city of Detroit by Michigan's state government. The city was renamed Delta City. Michigan taxpayer dollars paid for the creation of a robotic police force. O.C.P has further expanded control over several other towns and cities in Michigan, and has declined to implement Gilead's totalitarian social policies. They have nevertheless avoided direct conflict with Gilead.
26. The Springfield Dome is located in the midwestern state of Winnemac, wherever that is. The city has been sealed off in a giant dome by local politician Lisa Simpson, who has assumed control over the city administration.

While the Vermont Resistance has repeatedly defeated attacks from Gilead, the small size of its military has prevented it from liberating large swathes of territory. Felsenburgh does not currently reside in Vermont, instead traveling the world to build support for the socialist cause.

Not even the most fearless warrior of the Sons of Jacob dare enter the city. Gotham's neighborhoods have become violent and fractious warzones (even more than usual). The Jokerz Gang is currently the dominant faction in the City.
30. The Black Revolutionary Organization was formed by "domestic terrorist" Huey Freeman, a prominent leader of the Black Lives Matter protests. Jacques St. Germain, a prominent elder in the Vampire community, emerged from the shadows to assume a public role as the acting Mayor of New Orleans, after the previous mayor was forced out over corruption issues. New Orleans has also become a haven for witches fleeing Gilead's persecution.
25. The Delta City Zone was formed in the 2010s when Michigan Governor Rick Snyder signed a bill allowing for the privatization of Michigan's city administrations. The corporation Omni-Consumer Products, despite being responsible for the Flint Water Crisis, was sold control over the city of Detroit by Michigan's state government. The city was renamed Delta City. Michigan taxpayer dollars paid for the creation of a robotic police force. O.C.P has further expanded control over several other towns and cities in Michigan, and has declined to implement Gilead's totalitarian social policies. They have nevertheless avoided direct conflict with Gilead.
26. The Springfield Dome is located in the midwestern state of Winnemac, wherever that is. The city has been sealed off in a giant dome by local politician Lisa Simpson, who has assumed control over the city administration.
27. The Vermont Resistance was formed by revolutionary socialist presidential candidate Senator Julian Felsenburgh in response to the rapid fall of the Northeastern states to Gilead's forces at the start of the war. Despite the liberal population of the Northeast, Gilead's early victories caught opponents of Scudder unawares, allowing the First Prophet to turn the region into a military stronghold and establish a second capital at Boston. Felsenburgh was nevertheless able to rally support from his home state of Vermont and resist conquest from Gilead's Sentinels. Felsenburgh has launched military offensives into Maine and New Hampshire, the home of Vice President Stillson. Supplied from Canada' the Vermont Resistance sponsors insurgents across New York and New England. While the Vermont Resistance has repeatedly defeated attacks from Gilead, the small size of its military has prevented it from liberating large swathes of territory. Felsenburgh does not currently reside in Vermont, instead traveling the world to build support for the socialist cause.
28. The Tri-State Area of Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey has avoided conquest by Gilead thanks to the efforts of reformed mad scientist Heinz Doofenshmirtz, who has finally achieved his ambition of controlling the region. The animal agents of the Organization Without a Cool Acronym serve as his enforcers, helping him to defend the region from attack. The Tri-State Area is a highly advanced technology hub which has resisted capture despite repeated attacks by Gilead.
29. Gotham City, New Jersey, home to a long tradition of powerful eccentric criminals, has become No Man's Land, with Gilead sealing the city off to avoid conflict with the dangers within. Not even the most fearless warrior of the Sons of Jacob dare enter the city. Gotham's neighborhoods have become violent and fractious warzones (even more than usual). The Jokerz Gang is currently the dominant faction in the City.
30. The Black Revolutionary Organization was formed by "domestic terrorist" Huey Freeman, a prominent leader of the Black Lives Matter protests. Following the violent response of the government to the Gabriel Bell protests, Freeman trained and organized African-American radicals into B.R.O militias. When First Prophet Scudder agreed to sell the entire African-American population to the alien trader Goa'uld, the black population in the South rose up against Gilead. Freeman had already established an insurgent organization poised to resist Scudder's attempted ethnic cleansing. The B.R.O under Freeman thus became the most powerful black insurgent group resisting Gilead. While the B.R.O controls little in terms of territory, it is still able to conduct frequent guerrilla attacks against Gilead over a wide swath of area.
31. The Faerie Alliance is a loose organization of magical creatures in the Florida Everglades headed by the swamp creature Man-Thing formed to resist the human destruction of their habitat. General Winfield Scott recruited Man-Thing as an ally in his invasion of Florida, and the Provisional Government has recruited various magical creatures to join Man-Thing, promising to establish the Everglades as a magical preserve after the conclusion of the war. Volunteers from the magical land of Xanth have crossed over to Florida to support the Faerie Alliance.
