Description

A ghost converses with two members of the Hands of the Dead, an organization dedicated to dealing with lingering spirits. They offer their services to assist ghosts in moving on to the afterlife, which may entail carrying out a final wish, burying the ghost's body, bringing the ghost's killer to justice, and in some case (for which certain members of the organization are trained), sending malevolent spirits to the afterlife by force. They make it a point to spread the word of their mission across Dûnathel, so that folks being plagued by spirits, as well as the spirits themselves, know to contact them for help. The Hands have members in every nation, as well as several wild zones, so they're not terribly hard to find if their services are needed.

This trio are all citizens of Amalar, a forest nation largely comprised of elves and gnomes. The man in the center is a Moridhel elf - the tallest of the elf types, he stands nearly 7 feet tall, dwarfing the Ondomell gnome woman beside him, who is roughly 3.5 feet tall. The ghost is a Mothedhel elf, whose height would be somewhere between the other two if she wasn't floating several feet off the ground to better show her annoyance. She is requesting a burial (beneath a tree, as is traditional for elves), and is somewhat put out that it's taken this long for someone to find her body.

This art is part of an impromptu "Lorebruary" challenge I've set for myself, which is intended to give me an excuse to do more digital art and flesh out my homebrew D&D world a bit more.
