An update on the Subnautica Alien On My Tumblr
I got the basic linearting down (decided to go a little sketchy with this one cuz it looks nice) and how bout I give you guys a little more info on this species too.
These big, giraffe like creatures inhabit the floating island in Subnautica. (and maybe the mountain island but there’d be only a few of em there) They graze off the tall glowing trees, using their stature to get to the branches. They’ve evolved with thin, sinuous legs, walking on them like stilts, so falling can be hazardous due to how difficult it is for them to get up again. They also have two sets of ‘nostrils’, the smaller set closer to their eyes is used for breathing, but the longer one at the end of their snout is actually there to expunge salt and silt that they filter out from the water they drink.
They have a pair of thin dorsal and pectoral fins that glow at the base, as well as four long escas on their head, which glow at their slightly bulbous tips.
I don’t have a coat color set in stone for them, but they’re probably going to have very leathery skin, like a salamander or a frog.
