Our 157 review of John Wick: Chapter 4 vk.com/@criticism_reviews_mine…🎞🎞🎞🎞🎞REVIEW #157 FOR THE MOVIE🎞🎞🎞🎞🎞📽
Good Saturday, dear subscribers and guests of our “Criticism and Reviews” group from the UmbrellaTech.Inc channel 😉
Sorry for the long silence. The last seasons turned out to be quite... nervous. However, despite all the madness of our world, the medicine “wedge by wedge” works even today. And I want to share it with you, just like the hero of today’s review.
“Si vis pacem, para bellum” - “If you want peace, prepare for war.” And our hero didn’t rest either. Meet the return of the legend who came to us again to go beautifully into eternity as a winner - Jonathan Baba Yaga Wick.
John Wick 4 is the final chapter in the quadruple universe of the Jonathan Wick film series, played by Keanu Reeves and directed by Chad Stahelski.
The plot of the film tells about the last battle of Baba Yaga, where John is looking for a way to end the entire reign - from the elders to the heads of families, so that they will stop hunting him. And in this he is actively helped by our beloved “Pigeon King” (charismatic Laurence Fishburne)
But as the Elder said in the last seconds of his life to Mr. Wick, “all his attempts are in vain” and only the wind that he sows will allow him to reap the storm in the person of his last opponent - the Marquis de Gramont (actor Bill Skarsgard).
While Joni resolves empty matters with those above the board, in New York, de Gramont removes the immunity status from the Continental, and Winston (the incomparable Ian McShane) is called through the Messenger (actor Clancy Brown, aka Henk from Detroit: become human) to to his headquarters, from where he has a wonderful view of the last hour of the Continental's existence. Charon (the magnificent Lance Reddick is known as Martin Hatch in the game “Ouantum Break” and Matthew Abbadon from the TV series “LOST”) also goes with Winston , who, not listening to the warnings of the former manager, goes with him to the end, which Charon will later say that he "was honored to serve" his friend.
After completing his Bedouin affairs, Mr. Wick heads to Osaka Continental to visit his old friend Shimazi (actor Hiroyuki Sanada, known to you from reviews of LOST and Spiral) in search of refuge. And while Joni is bandaging his wounds, the Marquis is not sitting idle, for vested with “power like an imperial one” on behalf of all the clans of the government, he raises his old bills, namely the best killer who was an old friend of Mr. Wick - blind Kane (actor Donnie Yen) . And the fact that he is blind should not dull your attention, because this particular killer, even in this state, is equal in strength to Jonathon. And it is he who goes in pursuit of Baba Yaga to their mutual friend.
But I left the most favorite thing for you for last, because one of the best trackers and at the same time the most adequate bounty hunter, who knows his worth and - most importantly - the price of his order, has arrived in Osaka. Meet the African-American, knit cap-wearing, backpack-filled backpack with the cute ball-and-throat-chewing German Shepherd Mr. Nobody (played by Shamir Anderson). He's the first mercenary in franchise history to not hunt John Wick until his price tag reaches a whopping $40 million. Moreover, he negotiates this price, since going against Wick himself is total suicide. But for a good price you can do the impossible. After all, Mr. Nobody has his own goal. And yes, the dog will be the culmination of their relationship.
But the most intriguing thing is that John, Kane, and Mr. Nobody are all birds of a feather with the same goal - to free themselves from rule. But everyone chose their own methods. Killa Harkan's character (Scott Adkins) looked at their dilemma this way: “One thinks he can earn his freedom. Another hopes to buy her back. And the third believes that he can cut out everyone on the way to her.” This dilemma forms the main theme of the film, but its moral is hidden in Kill's subsequent response: "But what these three cannot realize is that once these three sat down at the table (in this debt game with the Board), they had already lost." As for me, it’s a wonderful moral with posed problems and three controversial ways to resolve them.
How will the clash between the Emperor of the criminal world, the two best killers of the old era - Kane and John, as well as their newly minted and most adequate hero in history - Mr. Nobody? You will find out by watching John Wick 4.
The tape is great. She is the crown and culmination of the entire story about John Wick, and although its end is sad no matter how you look at it, I was glad, like Winston, to accompany Jonathan from beginning to end, to be a devoted connoisseur of this franchise like Charon, reasoning sensibly and assessing everything that happens as Mr. Nobody and at the same time enjoy the film with passion like blind man Kane.
And yes, not a single dog died in this film.
John Wick 4 definitely deserves a 10/10 score. Recommended viewing for everyone.
