Yes, it does get narrower as you go up! This is the Transamerican tower in San Francisco. The city isn't especially noted for high-rise buildings so this should be easily recognised because films/dramas set in SF often include a shot of it. It's weird as it neighbours onto Chinatown where the architecture is distinctly low-lying though rather more colourful.See my San Francisco panoramas at [link]

No, seriously, fair comment. I think the shadow in being so dark does attract attention downwards aways from the rest of the photo and imbalance it a little. I could have cropped this out but it would have lost the impression of height then as the building would have looked as broad as it was tall. I remember having particular difficulties finding a good vanatge point to take this. The idea would probably have been on top of some pagoda in Chinatown!

what a bizzare building, so unique, shame about the shadow lower down, would be nice to see it all white but none the less, a very nice picture
