The German capital, Berlin has for a very long time been two cities within one. Not surprising given that it was cut in two between 1961 and 1989 by a wall about 3.5 meters tall and spanning nearly 100 miles! Even now, it's easy in places to tell on which side of the wall a particular building or ornament was. In this picture, I hope I've captured the strong contrasts; in the foreground, Berlin Cathedral and in the background, the Fernsehturm, the television tower which is the second tallest building in Europe.
