The idea is having six different kinds of Rangers - each with different kinds of gameplay - working together for the betterment of people and Pokémon.
-= ANGELO REDWAY =- Capture Ranger
A young man of few words. He at least shows respect for people and Pokémon alike, but would rather not talk of himself - especially not about where he got that scar.
As a Capture Ranger, Angelo's gameplay works pretty much the same as in the other Pokémon Ranger games - draw loops around Pokémon to befriend them. He too can use Poké Assists with the help of captured Pokémon. His accompanying Partner Pokémon will lend special Poké Assists of their own.
-= BIANCA YELOGATE =- Rescue Ranger
An adamant girl with a heightened sense of justice. She can't stand the thought of bad guys winning, so she's rather impulsive. At least she's there to cheer up others.
Rescue Rangers like Bianca delve into dangerous areas to rescue any people and Pokémon that are trapped. Her Partner Pokémon will tag along to help her with different obstacles, and most Pokémon she rescues will come to help out as well.
-= CLIFF BLUWOOD =- Medic Ranger
A boy who has had a rough time growing up. Due to a traumatic experience when he was young, Cliff is a bit fearful around Pokémon, but does what he can to cure them.
As a Medic Ranger, Cliff has to stimulate areas of healing to cure injured and ill Pokémon. Some injuries require special methods, namely ones from his Partner Pokémon. If he makes mistakes, the Pokémon is more likely to attack him.
-= DAHLIA PURL =- Combat Ranger
The heiress of a wealthy family. While most rich girls prefer to let other people do their work, Dahlia wants to prove that she's not "useless" on her own.
The job of a Combat Ranger involves facing multiple Pokémon in a grid-like fashion. Her own Pokémons' attacks are converted to the same friendship-imprinting power given by Capture Stylers.
-= ERIK GREGORY =- Detective Ranger
A brilliant man and a colleague of Prof. Oak. He can tell someone a lot about a Pokémon from a glance. Sadly, he's more concerned about facts than most of reality.
Erik's missions involve going around an area and gathering clues to determine what kind of Pokémon is causing the trouble. From inspecting the area to interrogating people, Erik's Partner Pokémon can assist.
-= FUYU WAITOME =- Psychic Ranger
The daughter of a proficient Psychic Ranger. She used to be neighbors with Angelo, but a powerful Pokémon destroyed her home and ended her mother's life.
Psychic Rangers view a troubled Pokémon's mind as a puzzle, and they have to solve it to befriend the Pokémon. With some puzzles, Fuyu must rely on her Partner Pokémons' abilities.
Ehehehe...yeah, I got a theme going with classifying these folks.
