Angel In ChainsTrapped under the weight of her conscious past,
Having to give it all, only to come in last,
Wanting to rise up, willing to change,
But her own world has become her own cage,
Looking at her reflection is like looking into a nightmare,
No matter if you run, it’s always right there,
And she wants to escape, wants to heal,
Wants to prove pain isn’t the only thing she can feel,
But her wrists are bound, she’s thrown in the dark,
And regret is stamped on her like a birthmark,
She’s been shoved onto this Hell chariot, and given the reins,
This misguided soul, this angel in chains.
