Description
The British Rail Engineering Limited Class 304 (or AM4 when built) was, along with the identical Classes 305 & 308, the last Electric Multiple Unit built without inter-vehicle gangways. They remained like this, even after refurbishment in the early 1980s.
They were in service in the Manchester & Liverpool area their entire lives, from 1960 to 1996.
