Description Along with President Lincoln and a battle scene, this image features Civil War OCs Abednego (center left) and his top initiate Nathaniel Hayes (center right), two assassins fighting to unify a divided nation. Now, a message from the Assassins:

“Laa shay'a waqui'n moutlaq bale kouloun moumkine”

These are the words that we hold in reverence. The words that define our cause.

These words had been the bedrock of my freedom of identity, my freedom of choice and my freedom of thought. However, I used to believe that they have, in ways, been the words that had kept me shackled to intolerance and hatred.

For if nothing is true and everything is permitted, then where is virtue given a claim of value? Where is life given meaning and purpose? If nothing is important, then why spend the many breaths of my short life fighting for the cause that I have chosen for myself?

I understand now that it is quite simple, actually. It begins and ends with us as people. It is people that provide answers to these questions, however the answers differ.

It is people that form the wedge that creates the divide between each other; people that seek to perpetuate the ideals of hierarchal order, a food chain that places them at the peak of power that they so brazenly desire with little to no regard for those whom they cast their shadow upon, and will do and say anything to maintain such power.

On the other hand, it is also people that see past the differences that set us at each other’s throats; people that practice compassion, empathy, and courage to see that we find ourselves in this life together, and that only together can we truly find the path to the peace that has been sought for centuries.

I believe that if there is anything that the creed has taught me, it is the very importance of togetherness itself. I believe that the saying holds true: “By uniting we stand, by dividing we fall”.

While there are powers in this country, seen and unseen, that seek to keep us divided amongst each other, whether by race or class or anything else, we must remember that we, the people, are our own source of strength to combat these powers. We, the people, must declare that while we stand together, we shall never falter, and that our differences, whether minute or significant, shall not become the definition of weakness.

This already holds true among my brethren, and so it could too for all people if they so choose.

By the creed, we stand united.

By the creed, we are made equal.

We are brothers. We are sisters.

We are Assassins.

Nothing is true, everything is permitted.

-Abednego, Former slave and Master Assassin

This would have been an interesting idea for an Assassin's Creed.

I completely agree. It seems too many people these days turn their focus on what separates us rather than what unifies us, and that needs to change above all. Thank you very much for your comment, and the fav as well.

Now this...this is a good game. Considering what kind of state America is in with being divided for no reason honestly. (Not saying there isn't a reason, just that we need to stand as a nation)
