Description A high-quality gradient generated by rgbscript. This is quite something. I don't know about PS, but the GIMP's gradients don't even come near this. They contain a heavy banding which just isn't clearly visible when first created, but once you up the contrast just slightly, there they are, the dreaded 'zones'. I had expected Inkscape to deliver this same quality, but the resutls of an experiment conducted just know were pretty hair-raising. Even worse than GIMP.

This one is either near or perhaps even beyond professional camera quality. I have to say the JPEG version does show lines at a high zoom level, perhaps because it cannot contain all the info required for proper rendering, but the PNG looks absolutely smooth. If any lines show up in the image above (as they do in my browser), that is a flaw of the rendering machine (in combination with resizing perhaps), not of the image. Just download the PNG an C for yourself.

Maybe I should create a separate tool for this purpose, because this is really very useful. I've been struggling with crappy gradients and blurs with the GIMP for as long as I have been using it.
