Description
Maybe it ain't much, but it's arguably something. My first all-Inkscape product. While thinking of this particular arrangement of dayglo colors, I realized they have nothing to do with a rainbow at all: they represent the dawn. Whereas te rainbow has biblical connotations (until the 1990s it used to be one of the main symbols of Evangelism; nowadays Evangelists have some trouble rallying around a rainbow, for obvious reasons, haha), the dawn as a symbol is traditionally fraught with paganism and superstition, even if it has by and large vanished from the western hemisphere. Lucifer, the Son (or Sun) of the Morning, show himself at dawn. Or herself, for he is of course Venus. I have no idea what the dawn is supposed to represent exactly, but I came across her (Zorya/Zarya, in the company of Dennitsa) a lot during my Russian studies. Probably a mix of fertility and death, as usual.
