If accelerated polar wandering ( see for example www.popularmechanics.com/scien… ), which started around 1990, has absolutely nothing to do with the so-called freak weather patterns we have witnessed in recent decades, the current climate models seem pretty accurate. If, however, the Arctic will start to freeze up again as the North Magnetic Pole heads off toward Siberia, causing global sea levels to drop once more, they can by and large go out the window. I don't think anyone knows exactly. It would suck for the miners on Greenland, that's for sure. Not for the 'traditional' whale fishers though. Not to mention the polur bears.

P.S. And as usual everyone is parroting everyone else, afraid to harm their careers if they stray any distance from the herd. On either side of the debate, for that matter.
