What programming is. Those triangles have something to do with how Inkscape writes paths, which propagates into how clipping is performed. They should be gone, but I can't see a trivial way to get rid of them, without rewriting an entire code block. Which will without a shadow of a doubt involve its own logical cul-de-sacs.

Like you have an idea which could theoretically be implemented in five minutes or so, and before you know, six hours of your valuable time have flashed by, gone forever. And it still may not work, but in the best of cases, by now you at least understand why it won't, and can't be done. Learned something today. Yay.
