Description
There is a lot about this picture which I hate, like those hideous flakes 'on top', but they were part of the original image and cannot easily be removed or obfuscated (trust me, I tried). What makes it interesting and worth posting for posterity is the jelly effect. The blurred red band obviously plays a major role in this, as do perhaps the orange flakes to the side, which seem to rest on some invisible, translucent surface. Must try and re-create this in a cleaner fashion some day, which is tedious and frustrating, and never guaranteed to be crowned with success. The title comes of course from the petri dish, in which cells are grown, which may be highly aggressive and could be used for building biological weapons. But even as such I don't feel it is very convincing.
