Description This is a very bad rendering of the Primordial Chaos, which cannot be depicted to begin with. The Primordial Chaos is a concept of both occult beliefs and mystical currents in Christianity. In the latter case it has to dwell in the underground, since it is frowned upon by Church officials and considered at least borderline heretic. It is very much related to Jacob Boehme's "dark side of God", which is obviously rejected, since in mainstream religious views, "God" cannot have a dark side (while at the same time they never can come up with a satisfactory answer as to why apparently a thing called Evil exists, or suffering at least).

The idea of a Primordial Chaos was very much a part of the Hellenistic views during Roman times. It was employed both by the Stoics and the Neoplatonists, if I remember well, who formed the two main philosophical schools during that era. The Primordial Chaos is the polar opposite of the One, the perfect harmony and unity from which all of reality has "emanated". One way to look at the Primordial Chaos is to imagine that in the One, all opposites have been resolved. Which, let's be honest, is quite impossible to imagine, but at least the idea has been around for a long time. While I have never seen it specified as such, it then follows that in the Primordial Chaos, which is the opposite of the one, there must be a maximum degree of distance between two opposite notions. Which means that they must be disconnected altogether. This means that for example the notion "up" bears as much a relationship to, say, "unhealthy" as it does to "down". In other words, it's total chaos, a chaos even beyond imagination and, indeed, depiction. So let this be a pathetic attempt at creating barely as much as a hint at the Primordial Chaos.

The Primordial Chaos may very well appear in the Bible as the water, above which God's spirit hovers. But then it's all very much subject to interpretation, so who will tell. In a number of ancient Eurasian creation myths, existence began with Satan bobbing along on a pre-worldly ocean in the form of a goldeneye (Ru: Gogol). Then God passes by and asks him if he could help him create the world. So Satan takes a plunge into the waters, and resurfaces with a lump of clay, which is what we call Material Reality. After that, things get really weird, but that's a different story.
