Description Romantic Dreamers

Full title: "Romantic Dreamers On Their Way To The Slaughterhouse". That's "romantic" in an ideological sense, like in for example "romantic-nationalist".

Whatever I've been uploading for the past year or so should be looked upon as merely sketches. I don't have time for making "art" these days. I mean, to spend hours on a single image. At some point I felt I had to choose between "art" and studies, and studies won. Right now I'm immersed in the mystical nature of patriotism (Mamleev), which is dead boring to be honest, but it does shed some light on some stuff.

Whatever bad things can be said about Communism and the Soviet Union, they did come with a fresh breeze of internationalism and cosmopolitism that seems to have gone down with the USSR, which is a shame in my opinion. After all, it was "Workers of the world, unite", and not "Workers of the US, unite against China" or "Workers of Russia, unite against the Evil West". I wouldn't want to romanticize the whole Communist/Capitalist East/West experience, but there definitely was a spark of cosmopolitanism in the air back then that has been lost, first with the Ayatollah entering the stage, which marked the start of Islamic fundamentalism in it's current form ("If you listen to music, scorpions will eat you in the afterlife"), and then the with the fall of the USSR, which marked the end of any global cause for humanity (and an equally global cause to stop it).

I want to feel like a Global Citizen again. I'm tired of listening to nationalist rhetoric. It seems so 19th century. Stale.
