VisBubble is a round audio visualizer for Rainmeter.
It reacts to the sounds on your computer.

FAQ:
  • How do I access the settings?
Access the settings by double-clicking the skin, or via right-click context menu. You can also open the skin SettingsWindow.ini
The raw settings file is Rainmeter/Skins/VisBubble/Settings.inc

  • How do I only detect sound from a single application?
You can't. You can only detect sounds from a single input/output source.
However, you can make VisBubble only appear when you play music. To do so, open Settings.inc and set your player & HideWhenNotPlaying to 1.

  • This skin uses too much CPU! How do I reduce CPU usage?
Reducing the Num Of Items can reduce the CPU usage. Also, you can increase the skin's Update (right-click, Edit Skin, change the Update= value at the top)

  • This skin isn't working?
There are many possible problems, check out this post  for troubleshooting.

  • I can't drag VisBubble too high up, when I do it'll snap to another position!
Right-click the skin, click Manage Skin, untick Keep On Screen. Then, modify the x and y position directly by typing.

  • How do I use the color picker?
Select the color in the main window. The right bar is the brightness. The bottom bar is the transparency.
After that, hit the bottom right box (which shows your new color) to confirm.

  • How do I use the gradient editor?
Click inside the bar to add a new point. Right-click a point to delete it.

I meant that the gradient tool covered the whole widget (only worked with the barextrude, so I guess the others are in development), except for 1 of the the bars, which remained white. I could uploaded an image of what I mean if you want me to. Thanks for the quick response!

Hmm because when I tested it, it worked. Try playing around with the number of bars? Might be the problem. I won't be able to test this until late so yeah

visbubble sometime works sometime dont, can help? i set in the settings.ini to player=wmp , it visualizes, but after a refresh or a pc restart it stop working, then sddnly randomly can work again, also its very lag, in the rainmeter about section it shows failed to initialize audio client, also when i set the player=wmplayer it will say error invalid player name, so i let it stay as player=wmp, n in the about section under rainmeter there's no more error invalid player name, now it still shows failed to initialize audio client

Hey The bubble itself works perfectly fine I just have one small issue. When I restart the pc the Gradient window pops up at the top of my screen. I know how to close it, but it is just annoying to do it every time over again. Can you recommend any fixes?
    Thanks in advance

uh. that's weird? do you mean just the gradient selector? do you keep your settings window open?

    👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sycab In reply to undefinist [2017-08-23 15:00:21 +0000 UTC]

Yes it is just the window where I can select the gradients. No usually everything is closed.

I'm not sure honestly. Just try reinstalling visbubble? Maybe even uninstall it first.

I'm having an issue on positioning the bubble. I have 'keep on screen' ticked off, but the bubble won't go into negative Y (top area of screen) and is stuck at 0, but it'll easily go out of bounds on any other side of the screen. Any ideas how to fix it? much appreciated.

    I don't know if it's a known thing but:
If you change the sound output, the VisBubble stops
When I go to settings and click the Audio Device, it starts working again. Mine is left at 'Default'.

I have recorded it here: gfycat.com/RegalKindlyBushbaby

    Amazing skin btw

Can you add an option to make it so the colors are able to change with the beat or something similar?
And maybe be able to add a picture in the middle of the visualizer

Settings are totally bugged for me: Can't click anything (even tried "doubleclicks"), drag & drop the settings window, and when I'm somehow able to edit a variable, the fields will overlap

EDIT: Deleted the VisBubble folder and installed it again, now it's working. Nice plugin !

    Hi !
Thanks for making this, it's really cool !
I've got a question tho : how do you reduce the window since of the Bubble ? I'm tlaking about the window itself, not the bubble, because it's taking more than my screen in vertical ways, but i can make it go from side to side, just as if my screen resolution was swapped between heigh and length. Could you help me out please ?
    Thanks a lot anyway

How could you make it so that the colour of the visualizer changes with the music? (ex: I play a song from La La Land, the cover is purple, thus the visualizer is purple, but then I listen to one of The Living Tombstone titles, thus the visualizer turns yellow?

Excuse, me. I know this is a SUPER small complaint, but it seems that the circle makes a SMALL RGB difference. 1 Red, 1 Green, 1 Blue, exactly.

It make a bit of a grey box that is pretty visible on my mostly white wallpaper.

Is there any way to change or fix this? Thanks, in advance!

Go to Rainmeter\Skins\VisBubble\Resources\includes, edit Common.inc. You'll see [Back] with SolidColor=0,0,0,1.
You can change it to 0,0,0,0 - making the box invisible, but you'll be only able to interact with VisBubble by clicking the visible parts of the visualiser
