I don't like Twi sometimes. In this episode she was a b**ch and so was Trixie honestly.Β

I wanted to like this episode, it had TRIXIE! But, the overprotective nature of Twilight makes it hard to watch it again. I also didn't like the fact that Twilight calmly told Starlight that Trixie likes her when she's about to injure herself. Seriously, Starlight should be helping her knowing the one pony who relates to her is about to die!
What I'm saying is, it could've been better.

There really wasn't much at stake in this episode beside's Trixie's life. After the epicness that was Gauntlet of Fire, it would be hard to follow up with a Slice Of Life episode with Trixie. Having Twilight not being faithful and the forced fan pony cameos just makes it feel soulless IMO.

She tried to dive bomb into a manticore with a probable deadly result and Twi with Starlight were like "meh"

After what Trixie said in the wagon, she was probably too distraught to care about what happens to her. Twilight had to talk sense into Starlight so she'd help her.
That's why I think they played it so calmly. We all know Starlight would save Trixie at the last second, but the fact that Trixie would turn a potential friend into a game against Twilight also makes me dislike it. Like I said, some good Twixie chemistry would have saved this episode.

I feel the exact same way. The only thing I really liked was the joke with Celestial at the end and Trixie and Starlight's interaction with each other.

Yes, Trixlight was the best thing about this episode. I just wish the interactions with Twilight & Trixie weren't about distrust and hate. In Magic Duel, Twilight gave Trixie a good send-off. Here though, after becoming the Princess of Friendship, she doesn't trust her. It seems inconsistent, if Twilight was more forgiving and truthful this episode would've been one of the best.
