Description
She knew the kukuri wasn't exactly ideal. It's face was unpleasant, as if it would attack with most simplest of provocation, given the chance. The fur was tattered and dirty with blood and dirt, numerous scars visible from the dark fur. Some were even pretty fresh ones, this creature surely was not afraid to jump and fight to prove itself. It's agitated wandering in the tight leash indicated nervousness, and even though the leash was tied around the snout tight enough to bite in the flesh, the snarl of the creature was very visible."Ya interested in that one?" Her thoughts were interrupted with the familiar sound, and she turned to look at the person much taller than her. Kyynsointu was good dealer of Kukuris, even if a bit pricy one, but as one deals with the underworld, you'll be forced to pay little extra for the silence. Mio gave her a slow blink with the eye she had left, remaining expressionless. While the cute dress hid her body mostly, the seams of her patchwork that constructed the aforementioned body were still clearly visible. Her throat which had no skin covering it was moving slightly with her breathing, with every shiver of a muscle clearly visible. She turned to look at the kukuri again as it made a huge clanking sound, trying to break free from the chains and leather binding it, trashing from side to side until it flopped to the ground breathing heavily. Starvation, she thought to herself. A common method of calming feistiest of beasts. She gently moved some of her hairs behind her shoulder as she turned back to the pirate, and opened her mouth letting short guttural sound out.
"Aye? Good taste, he's a rare one that lad!" Kyy happily exclaimed, clearly hiding the mild surprise with it. "Lessee, just for you 10 000 crescies sounds fair price eh?" Mio squinted at her with a frown.
1000 she signed, evoking an audible sigh and shrug from the pirate. She should've known better than that to show actual interest in the creature, but she was determined to get that one.
“Girl gotta eat mate! 8500.”
Even if it meant wrangling arms with her.
The way home the kukuri was surprisingly mellow. With Kyynsointu’s kindness (tickled by some extra coin) they had agreed that one of her other kukuris would be the anchor for the angry raven kukuri, once he and Mio would get home they'd be on their own. For the first part of the way the kukuri was still thrashing wildly, occasionally throwing itself on the ground trying to tackle the anchor he was tied to resulting an angry snarl from it, but quickly both exhaustion and starvation hit and the young kukuri was just following them. Yet not even once did it lift it's suspicious glare out of the weird patchwork creature walking in front of them. She liked it. Such raw power and energy.
She waved bye to the anchor as she untied the chains, which just seemed revealed to be free of the cranky child. They exchanged last growls before Mio dragged the youngling inside her house. It wasn't big one by any means, and was littered with houseplants, but big enough to easily have small kukuri inside. Even still, the kukuri did not avert it's gaze even for a moment. It took a cautious yet strong step back as the short patchwork chimera reached towards it, and eased to chains around him. Freeing the arms. Taking weights from the feet. Taking the leash from the muzzle, leaving only the rope on its throat, which made the kukuri snap it's jaws couple of times.
He lifted his head high up, keeping glaring at the little person staring right back at him, with it's one eye as the other one was covered with a flower. Was that creature so stupid? Something was horribly off putting about it. The exposed throat seemed such easy target. How was this thing alive? Didn't matter. Easy target, quick kill and he'd be free. He watched as the creature slowly started pulling her dress down - now was good moment as it was distracted. He took a step forwards and lunged in, but as the dress fell on the floor the sight made him slow down. The sacks what he was used to seeing inside carcasses he ate was sewn right on top of her chest, and as she took breathe in he could see them fill with air. He could suddenly see what made her so off putting. She had the aura of death. Not just by her hands, which quickly took the hold if the tangling rope and pulled his head down, she was never alive in the first place. As he snarled back at the piercing gaze she was giving him, not even flinching away as his claws tore open the skin which did not bleed, he realized something.
He found something he was truly afraid of.
And that was dying.
