Bruce dont really defeated superman, i know thats how the animated films sell it to you, but in the graphic novel it a lot more clear the confrontation between this 2 is the result of each one's failures as a hero and that there is nothing to prove to each other aside form showing superman what being helpless actually feels like.
because thats superman actual problem in the graphic novel, the world broke the man of steal through anxiety and making brain washing him a self defeating shell of his former self .. a joke of a person
but at not point did the confrontation become dick size competition like the animated film did. heck Bruce never says a single word to superman. this film turns Bruce into preacher snob that loves the sound of his own voice
