I kid you not, that's one of the common names for this flower, the other being "Amethyst Dream", which sounds like the name of Rarity's nonexistent grandchild. My biological inclinations are criminally lacking in botanical knowledge. Maybe I just don't find plants as personable as animals? It can be remedied.

Wherever and however these flowers got their names, I would have gone for something attuned to counterculture because it looks punk. I don't personally despise the saccharine alternatives so much as I have a different set of stock connotations contaminated all too much by pop culture.
