I had a rough day and ran out of spoons, so I made this. The spoon theory is an analogy used by people with any kind of illness or neurodivergency, where spoons are a measurement of energy (both mental and physical). Some things take many spoons to do, some take less. If you’re chronically ill in whatever way, you have less spoons per day than healthy people, and if something bad happens, you have even less spoons. It’s a great way to promote self-awareness and efficient interpersonal communication.
