Exilvanian soldiers are commonly known not to be satisfied with their rations. Who would not be? Between meat roaches and maggot salad, the culinary excitement dies down quite fast and anyone consuming it will be wishing they were consuming quite literally anything else.

Which is why Exilvanians, when able, tend to try and hunt themselves a little extra meal. The methods and targets are varied, from human civilians snatched off the street, to beasts hunted in the few forests and great wastes of Exilvania or abroad. The end result is the same. A bloody, meaty slab that is consumed almost always almost raw by the entire platoon.

The latter form of hunting is usually done in particular by members of the Exilvanian Sniper Corps and Exilvanian Jaegers. The former are familiar with hunting enemies and are equipped with weapons that will allow a killshot even over great distance, though the 15mm rounds tend to have to hit the so as to not pulverise the entire dinner. Meanwhile the latter are masterful trackers and trap Hunters, being usually used by the Exilvanians for manhunts and anti-partisan operations, they tend to also let their Direhounds loose on animals or set traps and the like in the forest in order to find something tasty.

The two breeds of Hunters rarely cross, though when they do it tends to quickly turn into a competition over who can find and kill or capture the tasty tasty meat first. Something derived from the relative scarcity of good meat worth hunting in Exilvania. Sometimes they may however join forces, particularly abroad, to bring in larger hauls, though the competition between them never really ceases.
