Chapter 3: The Otheredge

     “The Otheredge, a blade forged from pure shadow stuff, a hilt of Helix energy, tempered by temporal energy, it has awaited its true master for eons.  That master is you, Trigger.” As Chronos spoke the Otheredge glided to Trigger.
     “But why me, how come I am its master?” Trigger questioned. Trigger didn’t know what to think. Him a master of something, like that was ever true?  Trigger rubbed his head and grabbed the Otheredge.
     “Because, you forged it Trigger.” Chronos replied calmly.
     Trigger, Emerald, and even Spike were shocked. How could he of forge something when he didn’t even do it. Emerald spoke up, “That isn’t possible. I have known Trigger all of his life and he never forged anything in his entire life.”
     “What about before he moved to your city? Did you know him then? For all you could know he could of forged it before he moved.” Chronos said.
     Trigger looked down at the Otheredge, “What did I do when I was 1?  I can’t seem to recall what happened then.”
Chronos knew what to say, “Trigger, do you know when you were born?”
     “No.”
     “What is at the opposite of the end of something?”
     “The beginning. Everyone knows that.”
     “There is your answer. For all of your first year you forged the Otheredge and after that you were catapulted to ‘your time’.”
     Trigger was shocked, all he could do was sit down and just think. “How am I the person who forged that weapon. One part of me says I didn’t forge it, but another part says I did forge it.”
     “LOOK AT WHAT YOU DID TO HIM!” Emerald yelled furiously at Chronos.
     Chronos appeared unphased, “I just told him the truth.”
     Trigger looked up and spoke, “What time period to I need to be in?”
     Chronos waved his hand and a black portal opened. He then pointed to it.
     “Emerald, Spike. If you want to follow me, that is your decision not mine.” After saying that Trigger walked through the portal, Emerald and Spike followed soon after. But where were they going only Chronos knew.
