I'm the Illustrator for our High School newspaper, the Bamboo Telegraph. (Last year at Bataan, I found out that the name actually comes from WWII...) Paul lets me draw whatever I want, as long as it has something to do with the theme, so yeah. The theme of this issue was Money Matters, to be interpreted as both the idea that money is something that matters, or matters concerning money. It's a picture of a toilet paper roll, but the 'paper' bit is money, well, peso bills. Money is somewhat likened to toilet paper, I guess. At least how I see it. Money is a necessity in this world (whether or not we like it), as is toilet paper, and both deal with dirty things. And not having toilet paper can leave you in a rather difficult situation...[stock photo of the toilet paper roll off of sxc.hu]
