Description This is the picture I had entered for a Pokémon Drawing Contest on Pokeheroes that mind you, should have been in the top sixteen, at least over this one picture that I just do not like at all. Trust me, it was a worse drawing then what I have presented to you here.

The contest was to be like, Asian/Pokémon themed. As far as I know, there were no rules against having humans in the picture. (until voting day comes around and they're all like, "Yeah, we got rid of pictures with humans in it." Because Pokémon is an "Pokémon world only and humans don't exist." right? *sarcasm in that*

Anyways, there are sakura/cherry blossoms painted on to the walls of the...dojo? Inside Lucario and Gastly are to fight. I even drew the cute paper lantern thingies with bright colors. The path outside is made out of stone. Those I did take a lot of time to make and shade. The water I colored carefully as well as the grass that if you look hard enough has darker and lighter spots. A key to drawing well is shading, yes?

My females are in the Kimono thingies. (There's different names I'm tryin to learn. ) The one dress again has the popular sakura/cherry blossoms. I added a few of the newer and older Pokémon as well to appeal to the newer yuppie children and the old school, traditional children. Hikari is even holding the sword Pokémon that was a pain to draw. I tried to draw depth is it? 3-D or so.

I really worked hard on it, especially with the coloring aspects but even the overall design and thought that was put into it. Now of course this art cannot compare to Artists on Deviantart, but I feel it should have been in the final votings to be ignored by the better Art. :/

Don't think I think highly of my work. I don't. I never think highly of my own art. The times I do, someone usually tears me off of the high horse one way or the other and I'm brought back to the reality of what my art is, but! Still. I know my art is better then some people's.

Plus, can't you see I have my own style? Unique as it is, it's not really unique in a good way, but certainly it is unique, wouldn't you say? I mean obviously I am trying to draw in the popular styles of Anime but just as obviously I'm failing and coming short of such which thusly makes it my own.

That was one problem I had. They didn't want the normal Pokémon style. Uh, this is a Pokémon website. Hullo! Is someone daft? I mean, I'm just saying! It's like when the game critics said that the 6th Pokémon game "had too much of a Pokémon feel to it." ...Uh hullo. It's a Pokémon game, of course it's going to have a Pokémon feel. x.x;

Besides which! If you don't draw in the Pokémon style, it's really not Pokémon! A lot of Anime is defined by it's art style or lack there of. When you change the style, it's really not that Anime!

(But hey, you people that draw realistic Pokémon, you're cool. )

Oh. I do not own Pokémon and I do not own the Pokémon characters.

Kumiko and Hikari, however, are my characters. (Well, technically Hikari belongs to a ex-friend but still.)
