"On this bright and sunny day, seemingly without warning or fanfare, a dashingly handsome, capable stranger has arrived ashore.
It seems he has a quest for you! A marvelous quest, and a generous reward awaits anyone who dares assist him in his daring venture!
Won't you lend a hand to such a humble and very-very-very smart Chimereon such as he? Won't you aid him in his—"

The mysterious blue Chimereon, who has been speaking quite loudly in third person all this time, is suddenly interrupted
by a loud, irate thunk of a finned tail on the impressive tank behind him. In the large glass thing floats a beautiful, shimmering Chimereon,
unlike anything you've ever seen before. Their body ends not in legs, but in a long, flowing fish tail--a Mercham. You've heard tales, but never seen one for yourself.
The other Chimereon—the one with all limbs very much accounted for—grumbles under his breath and suddenly points his cutlass towards your nose horn.

"I'll keep this short, bucko. The name's Rokusho. I've got somewhere to be with this here pretty thing. A merchant port, across the sea to the north.
I landed here on account of needing some crew members to help make the journey a little less... lonely.
Not 'difficult,' because I am very capable on my own! Very!! Just... you know. Could use a few friends along to sing sea shanties with."

He lowers the sword, blinking as he sizes you up, and seems to nod. You'll do for the job, his look seems to say,
and with a flourish of confidence he draws his cape around himself and spins around on his heel to face the wooden ship docked on shore.

"Wasn't jokin' about that reward. If you help me out, I'll compensate you. And... if you're lucky, I might toss one of my rarer wares your way.
See you on board!"

As he marches on his way, back towards the ship, the Mercham in the tank turns their eyes towards you.
They glance over their shoulder, then lean in close, pressing their front paws to the glass. Their voice is quiet, barely audible behind water and glass.

"You there—please, listen to me. You have a trustworthy face, and also, you're all I've got right now.
My name is Marin, and I've lost something very important to me. I can't get out of here and back to my home without it. It's..."

The Mercham pauses, their eyes darting to the ship, then back to you, speaking much quicker now.
Their gaze, sharp and almost hypnotic, doesn't waver as they stare you down.

"It's a very powerful item. A blessed piece of coral. I can use it to escape, and teach that horrid poacher a lesson.
If you help me... and swear to keep it a secret... I'll reward you. Maybe, I'll let you have a little piece of the item.
I think the poacher must have taken it and hidden it away somewhere on that ship.
Would... would you please help me?"

Please read the following rules thoroughly!

In this event you will choose an NPC to help—Rokusho the Merchant, or Marin the Mercham.
Complete one of the prompts given via either art or writing!
All entries must include links to the masterlist entries of each chimereon involved. Including the npcs!
You can only submit ONE entry.
As with all events, your account must be 5 months old or older to enter.
All participants on either side will receive Beetoles as an automatic prize, and will get more depending on amount of effort (see below)
At the end of this event, there will be a total of two raffles drawn, with three winners each.
What can you win from these raffles? Well, that's a secret!

The amount of effort put into your drawing / writing is what determines how many raffle tickets you get!

FOR ART ENTRIES:
- At least one colored fullbody, sketchy lines, no shading, solid/transparent background - 1 raffle ticket + 2 beetoles
- At least one colored fullbody, clean lines, shading, solid/transparent background - 2 raffle tickets + 4 beetoles
- At least one colored fullbody, clean lines, shading, scenic background - 3 raffle tickets + 8 beetoles

FOR WRITING ENTRIES:
- 500 words - 1 raffle ticket + 2 beetoles
- 1000 words - 2 raffle tickets + 4 beetoles
- 1500 words - 3 raffle tickets + 8 beetoles
