Description Today I decided to make a more obscure illustration of a Mammal that I admire a lot, the Amphicyon, or also called Bear-Dog, lived throughout the northern hemisphere, belongs to a sub-order of carnivorans, called "Caniformia", which includes the current bears, canids, mustelids and pinnipeds, the Amphicyon has a muscular body similar to a lion, at the beginning, fossils found in Asia explain a little about the evolution of these large mammals, they were small, almost the size of a dog, over time, fossils of large species were found in Asia and Europe, such as Amphicyon giganteus, but in North America the largest species, Amphicyon ingens, was found, these animals are believed to have arrived in North America through the Bering Strait, and was probably one of the causes for the extinction of Entelodontids in North America, it is not known for certain why it was extinguished, but but it is believed that its extinction was due to climate change and competition with the first canids.
