After Ben’s team had encountered Albedo, and his show Ben 10 Live, Albedo altered his biology so he had the ability to change into Aliens at his own will, without use of an Omnitrix device, but these transformations aren’t permanent, as his biology is unstable, so he created a genetic stabiliser to maintain his transformations, this was based on blueprints of the completed Omnitrix, with some slight modifications
