hmm, as far as i know, action painting emphasizes on the process when the artist created the painting, using spontaneous body movement or gesture. The artist sees the canvas (or other medium) as an area to perform physical act.
Maybe it depends on your intention after all. But I like it.

TBH I'm hard-pressed to remember, since it's been five years, since I painted this. It's pretty spontaneous, and I didn't have a clear plan in my head, but I did not set out intentionally to do an action painting.

I love the high-energy put off by this work. The color interactions are simply dynamic! The experimentation of art-making just oozes from this work in the way you use your brush strokes. I really feel my eyes being led over the work. This is absolutely stunning. Great work!

Kind of makes me think of an avalanche. And it reminds me of how dreary the snow is up here. I like the orange, the blue in the white contrasts quite nicely.

I just love the oranges that you have used in you past few pieces. Can you tell me...is this a personal fav color?..or is orange significant somehow?

My favorite color is probably blue, and I've also done loads and loads of blue color scales (like this: [link] or this: [link] ). I used to use blue even more, and had a sort of blue period in my early twenties. The bright oranges and reds are an attempt to get away from that.
If they have special significance, it's subconscious rather than intentional symbolic message. I've also started to use reddish-ocraish-brownish canvases, and putting brighter orange or red on them looks good.

Thank you for such a detailed answer! I really appreciate that. I think as one progresses..it seems the brighter colors eg: oranges and yellows..reds...become far more exciting to work with. In any case..I love the wonderful oranges you have been using lately..very bold

Excellent texture, and interesting choice of colour. The white is quite chilling and contrasts greatly with the warm orange at the top.
