Mateo Gallo always had an obsession with the water. He loved to be in it, swim in it, at times he even dreamed of living at the bottom of it. Never feeling at home on the "surface world", especially for his pointed ears, Mateo always suspected he was from "somewhere else" deep beneath the ocean surface. One day he suffered from a mental breakdown and threw himself into the ocean, apparently drowning.

Two months later an odd figure was spotted all across the shores, a reptilian with pointed ears and a magic spear that allowed him control over the ocean and water itself. This new character, dubbed "Sea Master" by most, had been committing acts against fishing boats, oil rigs and all forms of pollution to the oceans. Some see him as an environmental terrorist while others see him as a savior to the Earth. Whether his claims of being from a long lost civilization intent on protecting the oceans is true it is clear Sea Master's goals are for the benefit of Earth but not necessarily all its inhabitants.
