My entry for the Space Out challenge. It was the perfect opportunity to learn some new stuff while making it.

Modeled, Rendered and Composited with Blender 2.8. Render time: waaay too long, but could've cut it down to at least an hour by rendering just the 3 objects, and put 'em together with GIMP, but oh well.

Should've subdivided the two planets more, but didn't hit me until render was half-way through. And the clouds sure looks like sixes, but I'm just gonna call them Alien storm systems.

My original idea, which I failed at, involved a large asteroid heading towards the main planet, with the camera positioned just over the large rock. Was forced to scrap that, and pretty much made the asteroid become part of the planet's ring instead. Overall, I like it. Probably the biggest thing I've made so far.
