Description
“Alright then, that's one more turn down and who knows how many more to go.” Taking his place in front of the remaining players, Lelouch started to count how many people were left, but suddenly stopped after only about a minute of counting. With a shake of his head, he completely gave up on the idea. “Actually, I think I'd rather not know.” Lowering his head slightly, he sighed. “Someone can just come up here and get an item. I'm sure you all know how to play this game by now.”For a few seconds, the room went completely silent. For some reason, no one even attempted to volunteer themselves. Unsure why this was, you decided to do just that. “If no one else is going to do it, I guess that means it's up to me.” Pushing yourself out of your seated position, you walked towards the center of the room and knelt down beside the backpack. Once your hand was inside, it was only a matter of seconds before you had pulled a small collar, obviously meant for some sort of animal, from within. Giving the little bell on the front a ring, you stood back up. “So, which one of you has a pet?”
While quite a few of the other players turned their attention to you, only one of them stood up. “That doesn't belong to my pet, it belongs to the Student Council's cat.” Taking the collar from your outstretched hand, Milly placed it in one of her pockets. “I suppose I shouldn't expect you to know that though, seeing as you aren't part of the Council.”
“You're right. I'm not.” Due to the way Milly carried herself, you weren't sure if her sentence had been meant as an insult, or if she was just stating the facts. Regardless of how she had meant it, it didn't change the fact that her statement was true. Deciding not to worry about it, you took your hand in hers. “We should probably stop standing around now.” Nodding in agreement with yourself, you led her into the closet and just the door. As soon as you did this, you heard a clicking noise coming from just outside the door.
Looking straight at the shut door, Milly blinked several times in quick succession before speaking. “Did Lelouch lock the two of us in here?”
Taking a seat in front of her, you nodded. “I think so, yeah. Why?”
“Why would he do that?” Confused, she left her spot on the floor and carefully made her way to the door. Reaching up, she attempted to give the doorknob a twist. As expected, it didn't budge even the smallest little bit. Sighing quietly, she crawled back to her place in front of you. “He hasn't locked any of the other players inside, has he?”
“No. At least, I don't think he has.” Honestly you hadn't really paid any attention to any of the other turns, so you could have been wrong. Really, it didn't matter to you whether you were locked inside or not. It wasn't like you had any plans to leave before your time was up. “Maybe he wants to make sure neither of us try running away from the other.”
Placing a slender hand over her heart, an offended look flashed over Milly's face. At first, she thought you couldn't possibly be serious, but when you made no attempt to change or retract your sentence, her jaw dropped slightly. “Why would you run away from me?”
You knew you should have probably put an end to your light teasing, but you couldn't help yourself. It certainly didn't help that Milly was actually really adorable when she was all flustered like this. Now that you thought about it, this might have been the first time you'd ever seen her like this. “I don't know, but he must have some reason for locking us in here, right?”
“I really do home you're joking.” Narrowing her eyes, Milly waited expectantly for you to admit what she was already sure must be true. “You are joking, are you not?”
As much as you wanted to keep up the act, you couldn't. If you had, you might have risked really upsetting her, and you didn't want that. So, with a sigh, you nodded, ending your charade. “Yeah, I was.”
“Just as I thought.” Smiling victoriously, Milly crossed her arms delicately over her chest as she lifted her nose into the air. “I don't know why you thought it would be entertaining for either of us to waste so much of our time picking on me like that.”
“We still have plenty of time, trust me.” Paying no mind to her concerns, you gently brushed her silky hair away from her face. The very second you did this, you couldn't help but notice how warm her skin had become. Though that darkness made it difficult to tell, you knew she must be blushing. Trying not to grin at the fact that something so simple had made her blush, you leaned in closer. As you did this, Milly slowly closed her eyes in preparation for your kiss. The very second she felt your lips on hers, Milly placed a hand on your shoulder and almost in a shy way, returned your kiss. All to soon, however, your partner brought the kiss to a close. Judging by how red her cheeks, ears and chest had become in such a short time, her ending the kiss now was probably for the best. Smiling down at her, you softly brushed your fingers against her cheek. “See, what did I tell you? And we still have time to spare.”
“I suppose you were right.” Flushed from head to toe, Milly did her best to act unfazed by what had just happened. She had to know that she wasn't fooling you, but her pride wouldn't let her stop the act. “Still, I don't appreciate that you teased me at all, even if it didn't interfere with us playing the game.”
Unable to stop yourself, you let out a quiet chuckle. “I'll remember that, you know, just in case we're ever in this situation again.”
Milly opened her mouth to speak again, but the sound of the door unlocking stopped her from saying a single word. The door now open wide, Lelouch turned on the light, and immediately started to grin. “Hmm, that's a really good look for you Milly.” Gesturing to the blush, still hot on her face, Lelouch's smile grew. “You should wear it more often.”
