I really like the mechanical feel of the leave, the detailed texture which resembles rusted metal, but still, its life and its nature and the little bud in the lower right corner stands for continued existence of this plant past autumn and the rough seasons.
Combine that with a nice, uniform background that really helps the leave stand out, while sharing a similar colour palette ... and you have a picture I can dig.
