"Because you are going to go down too. Does that not bother you in the slightest Cassidy ?"
"No. It doesn't. I accepted it a long time ago; I knew there would be a day when I would finally be free. And I can't wait to die so I can torture your sorry ass in Hell. Just enjoy the flames William ! Lie down, look at how the fire dances, think about everything. This is a day of rejoicing, we are finally getting out of our prisons."
"Just fucking try to get that damn door open ! Come on, if we push against it we might break it open. We'll escape this fucking maze and hide somewhere, try to avoid the police."
"You are not thinking straight, old man. There's no escaping, it's obvious this place was made to trap us. To kill us. Now sit the fuck down and calm down, you aren't going to solve anything by yelling at me and trying to persuade a ghost to keep on existing."
"ARE YOU DUMB !? WE ARE GOING TO FUCKING DIE AND YOU'RE FINE WITH THAT FACT !? I HAVE SO MUCH MORE TO ACCOMPLISH !"
"Look, like it or not you're still going to go to Hell and I will be waiting for you there. Stop trying to make this harder than it should be."
William grunted and limped to the other side of the room. He searched around for a moment before letting out an "aha !".
Cassidy just sat down and looked at him, shaking her head in bemusement.
'This guy definitely went insane. It's pathetic but also quite entertaining to witness."
He suddenly launched himself at the door and crashed against it shoulder first.
Obviously, nothing happened.
He took a moment to steady himself and then took a few steps back, before rushing at the door again.
His clang resonated off the walls.
The flames were so nice, Cassidy thought. They moved in their unbroken rhythm, uncaring of anything other than their hypnotic dance. She felt like them. Nothing mattered at the moment. Everything was going to be alright. Soon she will get out of here, but until then she will simply think about everything, uncaring of the world. She would think about this moment, this little time-frame that she dreamed about for decades. It was wonderful to think that she would finally be at peace.
Another deafening clang echoed throughout the room.
"Will you just shut the fuck up ? Stay put, stop bashing yourself against the walls, it's annoying. I can help you do that later when you'll be in my pocket dimension, but for now I want so quiet."
"AT LEAST I AM NOT WASTING MY OPPRTUNITIES UNLIKE YOU ! YOU GIVE UP WAY TOO EASILY, YOU COULD BE HELPING ME, YOU KNOW ? JUST THINK ABOUT IT; YOU CAN ASSIST ME IN MY RESEARCH AND YOU MIGHT GET UNENDING LIFE, PERHAPS OUTSIDE OF YOUR METAL FRAME !"
"I told you my answer already. Wow, your memory has gotten real bad after all these years, huh ? It goes to show your age, haha."
He shrugged her off and started running against the walls again.
Cassidy rolled her eyes and went back to thinking.
