Hitomi's still riding high after her near win in the last tournament. She's done her training, and she's aiming for the top!!!

I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to finish this by the time Dead or Alive 6 drops, but it looks like it's going to be just in time! Still would have liked it if I had the time to go full color on this one, but maybe I can do that later on.

I actually enjoy the DOA series, and not just because of the fanservice. I liked that DOA5 toned down on the fanservice a bit at the beginning, focusing more on the fighting before falling off the wagon and going all ape on fanservicey DLC costumes. But they had the costume design contests for the Halloween DLC, and that was great, even if I didn't win any of those.

The fighting is not as technical as Tekken, and I prefer the 2D combos from Street Fighter, but I love DOA for the over-the-top moves and stage interactions. The story mode of DOA5 had a nice touch where there were two stories going on side by side. There was the main plot involving most of the "serious" characters, such as the ninjas and DOATEC staff, while a second plot revolved around the remaining fighters who were more focused on participating in the tournament itself. I liked that they didn't try to shoehorn every fighter into the main story, and it was a nice approach for a story mode. I hope DOA6 follows a similar suit, though the bit from the beta demo shows a bit more branching, so you can see which events happen side by side.
