I can see the end in my future,A time when I can rest,
Stop my work and simply be free.
Acknowledge the parts completed, the finish line crossed,
The release of duty.
Every day I can see a time of rest. Every day it sits there, waiting.
Mocking me with how I will never
Be able to see my escape from this loop.
A Sisyphean struggle,
This Tower of Babel.
Everything surrounding it seems perfect,
So why can I not make it complete?
At all sides I am beset,
Things added, things destroyed, things morphed anew
And all this time the completion seems to sit there
Like a cruel jailer dangling above my head the keys
That will unlock my straightjacket.
But until I can free myself, become a Houdini,
I remain, torturing myself in this loop.

Nothing is really finished. There are always repairs, edits, expansions, evolutions. Alterations to taste and need. There will never be a perfect or complete if life takes its eroding toll and imagination offers uplifting gains.
The best we can do is to do our best, but the loop is a Mobius coil, friend.
